The game is currently ranked number one among ‘top free games’ on Google Play Store. Earlier, the company had said that nearly 20 million users had tried the game in India during its pre-launch phase.

The game’s launch party held on July 8 had a concurrent viewership peak of about 500,000 on the first day on YouTube. Krafton will host BGMI esports tournaments to expand the Battlegrounds IP further in India, it said. BGMI was launched by Krafton in India following the ban on Pubg last year as it was published by Chinese internet major Tencent.
